Scribblenauts

When it comes to creativity and originality, developers will be hard pressed to outperform the upcoming game from 5th Cell, Scribblenauts.

Scribblenauts follows the story of Maxwell, a simple fellow whose sole aim in life is to obtain the solitary star located in each level of the game.

But Maxwell can’t do it on his own – he needs your help. Between him and the star is any number of difficult hazards, like animals and buildings.

Using the DS writing pad, you write down the name of an object that you think could help Maxwell overcome his current problem. If the dictionary does not have the item, it will tell you and you will try another.

However, it is unlikely that you will have to retry many items, because the Scribblenauts dictionary is excellent and expansive.

You might use, for example, a crowbar, a horse, a bulldozer or many many other things to try to get past a challenge.

Critics are raving about Scribblenauts and it looks like excellent fun.

Scribblenauts will be available on the Nintendo DS in late 2009.
