Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver

Ok, it’s official, we are now losing count of how many versions of the Pokeman brand have been released on the video game market since it’s creation in 1998.

Every generation, there is a whole new bunch of little characters to love and hate, but what is even more amazing is that the die hard fans continue to buy these games, no matter how bad they could be.

Luckily, the latest version of the franchise is actually quite good.

Pokemon HeartGold has been released in conjunction with Pokemon SoulSilver, and both of them are remakes of the age old Gameboy games.

They really are collector items these titles, and they are sure to get users up off their backsides, literally.

Thanks to the ingenious Pokewalker accessory that comes with the game, the idea of getting off your backside and walking around the neighborhood becomes a lot more enticing, especially when your favorite Pokemon is with you.

Set in the Johto region, the story in both games is one that has been echoed throughout most of the series.

You assume the role as a young child, summoned to the lab of the local Pokemon professor who asks you to help out with his research and lets you choose one of several creatures to accompany you on your travels.

Then it’s up to you to train and develop your Pokemon to get it to a level of destroying all other enemies’ and making it a good hearted creature for the world.

Both games are out now on Nintendo DS.
