Numblast

Simple puzzle games are known to be long term hits, and SCE Studios no doubt had that objective in mind when they devised their latest game, Numblast.

Numblast follows the story of two Japanese university students called Akasaka and Aoyama, who strike trouble when an experiment with strange cubic artifacts turns Akasaka into a monkey.

The quest is to help Aoyama return his friend to normal by solving the numerous puzzles of Numblast.

The main action of the game is switching the position of numbered cubes on a grid, and trying to build combinations of four matching numbers in two-by-two squares, causing the cubes to explode.

As you make bigger cubes, the explosions are bigger and you can take out more and more squares in one go.

The game is simple, fast and fun and can be played in three different modes (endless, time trial and puzzle).

You can also test out your Numblast skills against the best in the business by posting your high scores on the online ranking board.

Set for release in June 2009.
