New Super Mario Bros. New Super Mario Bros.

The highly publicized Nintendo Wii release, New Super Mario Bros., has been out for a few weeks, so how has the public received it?

It has been 24 years since Mario first bounced on the head of Mushroom Kingdom, and now we find him still bouncing away in the 3D virtual world, one that seemed so distant decades before.

It seems some things in life just don’t grow old, and Mario and his mates are one of these things.

The actual game play is very similar to most of the franchises similar releases, but the one thing that makes it a clear standout is the ability to multiplayer along the journey.

Up to four players can simultaneously work together, collecting rings, killing off bad guys, collecting mushrooms, and scoring freely along the journey through the colourful Super Brothers world.

There are, however, a few minor additions to the game play, including the ability to bounce off the heads of your allies, which gives you a vertical boost to get to those hard-to-reach places.

You can even pick friends up with a shake of the Wii remote sideways, and carry them over a tight spot, or even chuck them around if you wish.

The game is often chaos filled, but that just adds to the excitement created, and will be sure to see a few collisions in the lounge room while moving frantically across the living room floor, and/or couches!

New Super Mario Bros. is out now and a clear example of the love gamers across the world have for the legendary game.
