Napoleon: Total War

There are a lot of PC releases that do not get the recognition they deserve purely because they are not released on mainstream video consoles such as X-Box 360s or Playstation devices.

Napoleon Total War is one of these games.

The game was developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega, and for those who are not aware, it is the sixth stand-alone installment in the Total War video game series.

The game itself is focused around the political and military campaigns at the beginning of the 19th century.

Players begin the game with the main character Napoleon Bonaparte. From here you follow a campaign map and take part in many real-time battles with mutants, angry political members and general bad people in the community.

The game is split into four major campaigns with the main one being the French campaign that mirrors that of previous Total War releases.

As usual, the game allows for multiplayer use with some new features added to the game.

Unlike previous Total War releases, there is now an option for a “drop-in” multiplayer campaign mode: where when playing a campaign against the computer, it is possible to allow another user to join via a lobby and take control.

The best part about the Napoleon release of the Total War video game is that is vastly different form its earlier titles, and does a great job of finding uniqueness in its game play while sticking to the general theme of the franchise.
