MLB 10: The Show

Major League Baseball (MLB) is back for its latest assault on the sport in its 2010 version of the game MLB 10: The Show.

While this years version is still the clear leader when it comes to baseball video games, it is still hard not to be disappointed with the new release.

Going on from the successful 2009 title, MLB 10 is pretty much identical to last years game, only with a few improvements and differences.

The flaws are still there. The pitching is not any better and is a real grey area in what would be a fairly good game.

Another poor aspect of the title is the multiplayer feature that is still not developed enough that users want to use it.

One of the successful features that returns in 2010 is the headlining Road to the Show mode where you role-play a scrub from the minors to major league glory.

There’s also Manager, Exhibition, Season, Franchise, Rivalry, online ranked matches, and league play.

Some of these features have been expanded, but nothing has really changed in a dramatic way and you can now run full online season leagues.

New options have been introduced for pick-off attempts, so you can snap throw or lazily toss the ball over to keep the runner honest.

MLB 10: The Show is a bit like catch 22. The game play is so good that the little obvious flaws stand out so well.

In defence, however, the action is as real life as you can get, and still the best ball video game in the world.
