Heavy Rain is an example of a new trend of video games, which relies heavily on an intense, well written narrative script to carry its success.
Heavy Rain is a powerful interactive drama that entices players with the amazing storyline and creates an absorbing experience for those involved in it.
The game is a great ambassador for the new style of adventure video games, whereby a unchangeable story line is the centre of the game, and you as a player experience it first hand.
The basic plot of Heavy Rain involves the main character Ethan Mars who is on the hunt for revenge after his son goes missing and is presumed to be the latest victim of the notorious Origami Killer.
As the main player, you control all four characters on you side and can do so through the control pad.
While it may be an unconventional way of playing, it really does allow you to involve yourself emotionally with the characters and fell part of the plot.
There may be a lot of neutral moments, and story telling scenes in the game, but that does not mean there is any shortage of violence and fighting scenes.
Throughout the game you will encounter brutal fights with enemies and have plenty of brawls and deadly gunfights.
In the end, the biggest strength of Heavy Rain is its plot. The Story that is the center of the game is really a new experience for many video game players.
The concept works quite well, and even though it is near impossible to play it again once finished, it is a great ride while it lasts.
