Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Battlefield: Bad Company 2

In the last six months, fans of shooter based video games have been in heaven with te recent releases of popular titles including Modern Warfare 2 and like 4 Dead 2.

Now, with the New Year insight, another release in the genre had made its way into the market just in time for Christmas stockings.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the latest making of developer DICE and a game we have had our eye on since its announcement into the market.

The game also welcomes a new style of game play - Squad Deathmatch.

Squad Deathmatch basically is what the title implies - a twist on the most basic of shooter modes.

The difference here is that it’s not everyone against everyone, nor is it a team on team situation.

Rather, it’s four teams of four all shooting it out to be the first squad to reach 50 kills.

It really makes for a rather different combat style and a much more intense and unnerving experience.

Even if you manage to survive an encounter with an opponent from a squad, you never know if there’s a member of another squad just waiting in the wilderness for the right moment to cut you down.

You also feel much more connected to your team mates knowing that it’s four of you, and 12 of them.

While it may not come with the publicity games like Modern Warfare have generated, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 does nothing to harm the shooting game genre.
